GISTR is a mobile application that enables you to make calls to your friends and family across the globe, regardless of where they are located (currently available in more than 150 countries and expanding the list of countries). Additionally, you can also top up the airtime or Internet credit of their prepaid SIM cards.

To start making calls, all you need is a GISTR account, minutes, and a stable internet connection. The best part is that the person you're calling doesn't need to have the GISTR app installed or an internet connection. The call will be received as a regular GSM call.

With GISTR, distance is not a barrier! You can call your loved ones on their mobile or landline phone and share the best moments of your life.

WHAT ARE GISTR MINUTES?

GISTR minutes allow you to make high-quality calls to both landlines and mobiles in over 150 destinations worldwide, at the best price.

To start making GISTR calls, you will need to have GISTR minutes on your account. We offer several packages that give you access to different destinations, so you can choose the one that suits your needs. Simply select the destination you want to call and top up your GISTR account with as many minutes as you need.

If you wish to purchase GISTR minutes on our website, you will need to connect to your account. Here's how to proceed:

HOW TO LOG IN TO THE GISTR APP?

To connect to your GISTR account on your phone or the website www.gistr.co, first make sure you have the SIM card associated with your account inserted on your phone (in slot 1 if you have a dual-SIM) and you also have GSM coverage, in order to receive the login code by SMS.

How to proceed:

1. Open the GISTR app on your phone:
2. Press Get Started
3. Insert your phone number, including the country code, and press Continue
4. You'll receive a message with a code, enter it to connect to GISTR. On Android, the code will be detected automatically!

WHAT IS THE PROCESS FOR CLOSING A GISTR ACCOUNT?

Do you wish to leave us? 😩

1. Log in to your Gistr Account
2. Head to Settings
3. Click on your Profile
4. Select Delete My Account at the bottom of the list
5. Read carefully the disclaimer
6. Press Delete My Account

To uninstall GISTR, make a long press GISTR’s icon on your main screen, and select Uninstall application.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO CREATE A GISTR ACCOUNT?

Absolutely nothing!

CAN I HAVE MORE THAN ONE ACCOUNT WITH GISTR?

No, we only allow one account per phone number.

HOW TO ACTIVATE PERMISSIONS NEEDED?

For your application to work correctly, it needs to have access to certain functions of your phone.

If you are using an Android phone:
On the main screen, press Settings → Apps & Notifications → GISTR → Permissions In this menu, activate the options Contacts, Microphone, and Telephone:

On the main screen, press on Settings → GISTR → activate the options Contacts and Microphone:

HOW TO CHANGE MY NUMBER IN GISTR?

If you've changed your phone number, we advise you to change it on your GISTR application as soon as possible.

All you need is to be connected to your account.

1. Open GISTR and press on your profile picture on the top left
2. Press Settings and Change my number
3. Enter your new phone number and press Continue
4. You will receive a message with a validation code on your new phone number, which will be automatically detected by the application on your Android phone. If you are using an iPhone, enter it on the application. That's all, you can now keep using your application with your new phone number, and all your credit is still available!

HOW TO CHECK MY BALANCE?

There's nothing as simple as checking your credit:

On your application, go to the homepage 🏠 look at the top left corner of the screen next to your profile picture and it will be displayed under your Name.

CAN I TRANSFER AIRTIME TO ANOTHER GISTR USER?

Yes, of course!

1- Go to Store on the Homepage
2- Click on Balance Transfer
3- Enter the mobile number you wish to transfer the balance to
4- Enter the amount you wish to transfer
5- Press Transfer

HOW TO CHECK OR ADD A CONTACT IN GISTR?

The application accesses the contact list stored on your phone's memory! This information is not recorded on our servers

If you granted access to Contacts on your phone's settings, GISTR will display them on your application.

ADDING A NEW CONTACT IN GISTR

To create a new contact on the application, follow the instructions below:
1. Press the My Contacts icon on the homepage menu, select the number you want to add to your contact list, and press Add Contact. Then enter manually the contact information.

If you wish to add a number to a contact from your list, press Add to an existing contact. All changes made on your phone's native application will be updated in the GISTR Contacts menu.

If you are having some trouble adding your contacts, please contact our Support team.

GISTR CALLS

CAN I USE GISTR FROM ANYWHERE?

Yes! Here’s the list of countries that Gistr supports: Gistr covers all countries – making calls easier than ever!

ARE MY CONTACTS CHARGED IF I CALL THEM WITH GISTR?

Your GISTR contacts receive your calls as normal GSM calls, there are no costs for them.If the person you are calling is abroad, in roaming, there may be additional charges applied from their carrier, as in any other call.

HOW DO I SET UP A CALL WITH GISTR?

1. Log in to your account
2. Press the Call button on the Homepage
3. Click on Dialpad
4. Select the country code you want to dial & select the bundle of your choice
5. Dial the number or choose it from your contact list
6. Press Call – Enjoy seamless calls!

CAN I USE GISTR OUTSIDE NIGERIA?

Yes, you can use it anywhere, anytime!

DO I NEED THE INTERNET TO MAKE CALLS?

Yes, you need to acquire an internet connection to make calls

NB: the recipient of your calls doesn’t need to have any internet connection – it will be received as a local call.

I'M HAVING TROUBLE MAKING CALLS. WHAT SHOULD I DO?

1- Go to Settings on the Homepage // or select Support on the homepage
2- Select Customer Support
3- Select your preferred option between email or WhatsApp chat

WHAT IS A VIRTUAL NUMBER (DID)?

A virtual number (also referred to as a DID number - Direct Inward Dialing (DID)) is a telephone number that can be used as the customer’s caller ID number when making calls through GISTR

When you purchase your Gistr virtual number, all outgoing calls to this number will be initiated with this number as the caller ID. N.B The DID purchased, can be activated through the Caller ID tab on the GISTR app. (confirm tab)

HOW CAN I BUY A DID NUMBER FROM MY GISTR APP?

When you sign up to GISTR – you will automatically be granted a free DID by default for 30 days. After that, you will be charged to keep the DID number

2- Click on Buy DID next to your Profile
3- Follow the simple instructions to fill in your information
4- Buy DID

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO MAKE A CALL WITH GISTR?

We offer great rates around the world. Rates are based on the country you're calling to.

DO CALL RATES EVER CHANGE?

Yes, rates do occasionally change. Sometimes, international internet calls can fluctuate in price.

DO MY UNUSED MINUTES OF A CALLING PLAN CARRY OVER TO THE NEXT MONTH?

Depends on the plan activation date and the package validity days.

1- Go to Settings on the Homepage
2- Click on Payments

4- Check the Payment Method that you’re currently using

HOW CAN I ACCESS MY PAYMENT HISTORY?

HOW DO I REQUEST A REFUND FOR MY PURCHASED MINUTES? CHECK OTHER APPS

Users must contact the company within 90 days. No refunds will be given for any charges after the X days.

Users are invited to send our customer support a screenshot of their receipt and they will be ready to assist them.

WHEN GISTR IS ALLOWED TO REFUSE A REFUND?

When suspecting

● that you are trying to unfairly exploit this refund policy, for example, by making repetitive refund requests in respect of the same product or feature;
● that you are in breach of these Terms or the Gistr Privacy Policy;
● that you are using any of our products fraudulently or that your Account is being used by a third party fraudulently;
● that you purchased your credit through a third-party service and the terms of such third party do not allow such a refund.

CAN I TRANSFER AIRTIME TO ANOTHER GISTR USER?

Yes, of course!

I HAVE TRANSFERRED CREDIT TO THE WRONG NUMBER, WHAT CAN I DO?

If you've confirmed your top-up transaction and accidentally topped up the wrong number, we regret to inform you that we won't be able to alter the transaction or transfer the credit to the correct number.

Once a transaction is validated, we send a request to the carrier to top up the number entered during the operation. At this point, the transaction becomes permanent, and we cannot cancel it or initiate a refund.

Therefore, we strongly recommend that you double-check the number before confirming the transaction to avoid any errors.

WHERE CAN I BUY A GISTR VOUCHER?

We have good news. If you wish to purchase your Gistr minutes in a different way, the distribution of Gistr scratch cards is available in several countries (France, Italy, Belgium, Spain...)

Our scratch cards are now available at local tobacconists near you. Don't hesitate to check this map to find the nearest one.
